WASHINGTON: Former US Rep. Kenny Hulshof (R-MO) has joined MSL Washington as a senior advisor of its public affairs practice.
He will report to Neil Dhillon, MD of MSL's DC office. It is a newly created position.
During his time as a congressman, Hulshof served on the House Ways & Means Committee, which oversaw major healthcare, energy, tax, and trade issues.
He will simultaneously retain his role as shareholder at law firm Polsinelli Shughart.
“With the election later this year, [Hulshof's] addition strengthens our public affairs and issues-management capabilities,” said Jim Tsokanos, president of MSLGroup Americas, in a statement. “[Hulshof] is a master tactician and experienced policymaker who will bring tremendous leadership and problem-solving abilities to our clients.”
Prior to his congressional career, Hulshof served as a special prosecutor in the Missouri attorney general's office. He also previously worked as an assistant public defender and assistant prosecuting attorney for Cape Girardeau County, MO.
Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly listed Hulshof's title. MSLGroup hired him as senior adviser in its public affairs practice.
