Customer-contact platform provider Aspect hires Ogilvy

CHICAGO: Aspect, a customer-contact software maker, has hired Ogilvy PR Worldwide as its AOR for North America. The company handled most PR and communications in-house for the past five years.

CHICAGO: Aspect, a customer-contact software maker, has hired Ogilvy PR Worldwide as its AOR for North America. The company handled most PR and communications in-house for the past five years.

Ogilvy won the work following a review involving six agencies. Amy Messenger, MD of the agency's technology practice, will lead the account with support from a team in Chicago.

The contract is for one year. Much of the work will be b-to-b focused and involve media relations and social media to raise brand awareness, said Nancy Dobrozdravic, VP of marketing at Aspect.

“In our market, we compete against a lot of bigger players, and we just needed to elevate our presence and our visibility in the space generally so we had to get out there and find ways to get our story told,” Dobrozdravic said.

The scope of work will also involve product PR, analyst relations, and thought leadership for the company's offerings, said Messenger.

She added that additional PR efforts will focus on multi-channel customer contact and the development of messaging that explains “how Aspect is helping customers integrate social and digital into traditional channels.”

Aspect was impressed with Ogilvy's global presence, technology expertise, and the firm's Chicago office. The company declined to disclose the account's budget.

BMC Software hired Ogilvy as its global AOR last October.
