WASHINGTON: Ketchum's DC office is rebranding its consumer health and wellness practice as Brand, Well-Connected.
The renamed practice will officially launch on Monday. The Omnicom Group agency is rebranding the unit at a time when clients want assistance on branding beyond health issues, said Nick Ragone, director of Ketchum's Washington office. He indicated that travel industry clients are already using the revamped offering.
Leslie Schrader, SVP of Brand, Well Connected, will lead the rebranded unit. Most of its staff was allocated from within the agency, however it's likely new hires will be made, said Ragone.
“Our clients want to know they have strong and consistent brand representation across North America, including DC,” Schrader said.
Meanwhile, Ketchum's Chicago office has launched a brand offering called “Food and Ag,” aimed at clients with customers who want to know where their food comes from, how animals were treated, and the nutritional value.
“Those are the kinds of accounts that have unique needs that we feel we're in a position to provide,” said Bill Zucker, director of Ketchum Midwest.
Kim Essex, who joined the firm last year, is leading the practice as SVP. Prior to working at Ketchum, she was SVP of consumer marketing at the National Cattlemen's Beef Association. Before that, she was a brand-marketing consultant for Burson-Marsteller, where her clients included McDonald's, Lipton Tea, and Abbott Nutrition.
Ketchum expanded its DC-based public affairs practice late last year.
