WILMINGTON, DE: The Delaware State Lottery is seeking a communications firm to launch various outreach initiatives.

The winning firm will be tasked with providing the lottery office with a broad range of PR services, including media relations and planning and executing promotional activities and sponsorships, according to the RFP. It will also be responsible for managing social media strategies.

The agency will work on media releases with new game announcements, winner interviews, and jackpot figures. The firm will also be expected to serve as a media liaison at lottery events, promotions, and sponsorships. It will also assist the lottery in executing meetings and events, such as retailer partnerships.

The state lottery agency may also require the firm to create a new website. The RFP has significant pay media and advertising elements, as well. A state representative declined to comment on the contract other than confirming it.

RFPs are due June 11. The three-year contract has the option for a one-year renewal. The account has a minimum annual budget of $750,000 a year, according to the RFP.

Star Group Communications has held the account since 2006, a lottery official said.

Meanwhile, the Iowa Lottery Commission has re-signed Strategic America as its media services agency following an RFP. The firm will handle creative aspects of the commission's outreach, taking over for The Integer Group.

An Iowa Lottery representative did not return a request for additional comment.
