NEW YORK: The McGraw-Hill Companies has hired Daniel Sieger as VP of Communications for its McGraw-Hill Education spinoff, effective June 25.

Sieger will oversee branding and internal and external communications for the company. He was previously senior MD at RF|Binder Partners, where he led the firm's corporate responsibility practice. Sieger has consulted McGraw-Hill since February on behalf of RF|Binder, the company's longtime agency. He will report to Patrick Milano, CFO and chief administrative officer.

“This is a once-in-a-career opportunity,” Sieger said. “The idea of building the brand of basically a start-up company was really appealing and something that does not come along every day.”

McGraw-Hill said last September that it will split its education and business divisions into two companies: McGraw-Hill Education and McGraw-Hill Financial. Milano, currently the company's EVP, was appointed McGraw-Hill Education's CFO and chief administrative officer.

Prior to joining RF|Binder, Sieger spent nearly 10 years at Toyota Motor North America managing media relations.
