Publicis Groupe acquires full stake of ad agency BBH

PARIS: Publicis Groupe has acquired the Bartle Bogle Hegarty ad agency network after having held a 49% stake for years.

PARIS: Publicis Groupe has acquired the Bartle Bogle Hegarty ad agency network after having held a 49% stake for years.

Publicis also acquired 100% of the shares of Neogama/BBH in Brazil. The BBH board will include members of Publicis' management team, such as CEO Maurice Lévy, COO Jean-Yves Naouri, and CFO Jean-Michel Etienne.

After founding BBH 30 years ago, Nigel Bogle and John Hegarty are stepping down from management roles, but will remain active with client business. Alexandre Gama will succeed Hegarty as worldwide chief creative officer and group CEO Simon Sherwood will take over as group chairman, with Gwyn Jones succeeding him. Neil Munn, CEO of BBH's brand ventures company Zag, is taking on the additional role of group COO.
