Regan Communications acquires ad agency

BOSTON: Regan Communications Group has acquired Florida-based boutique advertising agency Alchemy Communications Group.

George Regan, chairman and founder of the eponymous firm, said the agency was looking to acquire Alchemy for about a year. He declined to disclose the terms of the agreement, but he said Regan is not going to “change the culture” of the ad firm.

Regan added that the acquisition is beneficial to Regan Communications because Alchemy is a “different company” and “what they do well” Regan “doesn't do well at all.”

“The PR business is changing completely and we think we have a full service communications agency now. If ran the company today the same way we did 20 years ago we would be bankrupt,” he explained.

Alchemy, which specializes in advertising, branding, marketing, PR, and social media, was founded in 2009 and works in various sectors, such as non-profits, financial services, healthcare, hospitality, retail, and real estate.

Last July, Regan acquired 5s Public Relations, which specializes in fashion and lifestyle products.
