CHICAGO: Brewing company MillerCoors has appointed Olson PR president Peter Marino as its VP of communications, a newly created role at the business.

Marino has a long history with MillerCoors, working with the company as marketing communications manager from 1998 to 2000 and then serving as a consultant from 2004 to 2007.

MillerCoors was a client of Dig Communications since Marino founded the agency in 2004. In December 2010, Dig was acquired by Olson and renamed Olson PR.

MillerCoors also retained Flowers Communications Group, its multicultural outreach agency, after a review. The company added Coors Light and Miller Lite brand work to the firm's MillerCoors account as well.

Julian Green, former director of media relations at MillerCoors, joined the Chicago Cubs in the then-newly created role of VP of communications and community affairs last September.
