H+K Canada acquires Ascentum

OTTAWA, ONTARIO: Hill+Knowlton Strategies Canada has acquired Ottawa-based consultancy Ascentum.

OTTAWA, ONTARIO: Hill+Knowlton Strategies Canada has acquired Ottawa-based consultancy Ascentum.

The WPP Group firm will merge Ascentum into its Ottawa office and form a new public engagement group.

H+K's public engagement group, which will roll out in coming weeks, will help clients develop informed participation campaigns through online, in-person, and social media strategies and tools.

Ascentum founder Rob Mariani will lead the group, reporting to Goldy Hyder, GM of H+K's Ottawa office. Co- founder Joe Peters will become deputy social media and digital communications practice leader, reporting to Boyd Neil, national practice leader for social media and digital communications at H+K.

Ascentum, founded in 2003, specialized in public participation, stakeholder and community relations, and employee engagement.
