NEW YORK: Zeno Group has appointed former Edelman EVP and deputy GM Kate Karet as MD of the agency's New York office, succeeding Andrea Morgan.

Karet, who joined the firm about six weeks ago, is in charge of looking after the day-to-day office operations, including quality of work, talent, and some client business. Former Zeno MD Morgan joined Emanate's New York office earlier this month as MD. There are more than 25 staffers in the New York office of the agency, which is part of the Daniel J. Edelman Inc. network.

Barby Siegel, CEO of Zeno, said one reason the agency brought Karet on is because of her “great track record with client services,” as well as her “creative thinking.”

“[Karet] has a vision of how to help in the growth stage that we're in and how to help take New York to the next level as a holistic, multidisciplinary office,” she said.

Siegel added that Karet will focus on anchor clients, such as Office Depot and Lipton.

Karet worked at Edelman Chicago as EVP and deputy GM from August 2007 to November 2009, working with a range of clients including General Electric, Quaker Oats, Hyatt Hotels, Expedia, and SC Johnson. Before that, she worked at Weber Shandwick from June 1997 to April 2005 as an SVP.
