Net-A-Porter's Levy joins IMG as marcomms director

NEW YORK: Alison Levy, PR manager for online luxury fashion retailer Net-A-Porter, is leaving her role to join IMG Fashion as director of global marketing and communications.

NEW YORK: Alison Levy, PR manager for online luxury fashion retailer Net-A-Porter, is leaving her role to join IMG Fashion as director of global marketing and communications. 

Levy, who worked at Net-A-Porter for more than a year and a half, will start in the position on Monday. It is a new role at the company, although it previously had a VP overseeing the marcomms team and business development.

She will report to SVP and MD of IMG Fashion Events & Properties Peter Levy (no relation). Levy previously worked at IMG Fashion from August 2006 to January 2011 as PR manager.

IMG produces and manages events such as the Mercedes-Benz-sponsored Fashion Week. Levy will work with the marcomms and events staff globally.

In New York, a team of four marcomms staffers will report to Levy, as well as part-time team members brought on before events kick off, she said. Levy will work closely with her direct reports on traditional PR and marketing efforts for events and programs. 

“Apart from how we manage communications and marketing for these events to the public-facing world, it's also our job to support sponsors and designers with their initiatives,” explained Levy. 

She also wants to use her global network of contacts in the fashion world to “work with designers in foreign countries to bring them to new markets and build their fan following.” 

In addition to marcomms work, Levy said she's excited to work on new programs, events, and consumer projects in both the traditional and digital spaces.
