Southern Trade Association taps Lestelle as AOR

NEW ORLEANS: The Southern United States Trade Association, an international trade development organization, has retained Lestelle Communications as its PR AOR.

NEW ORLEANS: The Southern United States Trade Association, an international trade development organization, has retained Lestelle Communications as its PR AOR.

The organization's members include several southern states, such as Florida, Georgia, and Texas, as well as the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

It works with state departments of agriculture and the US Department of Agriculture to carry out programs that will increase US exports to more than 30 countries.

Lestelle Communications will work with fellow New Orleans-based agency Ehrhardt Communications on the project, according to Jerry Hingle, executive director of the trade group. The contract is worth up to $180,000 over the next three years. The agency will be responsible for strategy and message development, public relations counsel, and media relations.

The firm will also launch a campaign to increase awareness of the trade group, its programs, and its role helping companies grow their businesses through exporting.

Lestelle CEO Jim Lestelle declined to comment on the win. He previously managed public affairs and corporate reputation for Capital One and was a news editor at the Times-Picayune in New Orleans. He launched the eponymous firm in 2008.
