NEW YORK: Olivia Scott-Perkins, former CMO of beauty product brand Carol's Daughter, has launched her own New York-based marcomms consultancy, Omerge Alliances.
The agency, which opened last month, specializes in branding and partnership marketing for independent content creators of music, film, video, and art, she said.
At the moment, the firm has three staffers and a number of project-based contractors, such as a digital strategist, graphic designer, videographer, and three publicists.
“The goal really is to provide what I see as a much-needed service, which is quality integrated marketing services to independent content creators in a very 360-degree way,” explained Scott-Perkins.
She added that she wants to work with the under-served market of artists and offer them services they usually would not have access to or be able to afford. However, Scott-Perkins said she will only take clients with a relatively significant following.
One of her clients, Gentlemen's Dwelling, a video content series, gets about 50,000 views per episode, she said.
Omerge Alliance is also working with singer and songwriter Somi, vocalist Kelli Sae, the band Black Rock Revival, and Nashville-based Curb Records.
Some of her client work includes forming strategic alliances, engaging media, branding, publicity, and helping with press releases.
Scott-Perkins said she wanted to combine the marcomms expertise she gained throughout her career with her passion for music and aspiring artists.
The name “Omerge” is a combination of the word “merge” with the letter “o,” which is the first letter of her name.
Prior to creating her firm, Scott-Perkins served as CMO of Carol's Daughter since August 2011. Before that, she served as associate publisher and head of marketing at Vibe magazine before it folded in 2009.
Throughout her 17-year career, she also worked at Live Nation, In Demand, Leo Burnett, Ogilvy, DDB, Frankel, and Draft.
