Most regrettable career moment
I just celebrated a milestone birthday and the theme was no regrets. What I thought were regrets at the time all made sense eventually.

Proudest career achievement
I would have to say now, in my position with Virgin America.

First PR job
As VP of marketing, I ran consumer PR at Joe Boxer apparel and smooshed PR together with our other marketing assets.

We managed to create loads of brand-building virals and earned marketing – before those terms actually existed in PR today.

Person to call in a crisis
Until August 24, 2012, it was my dad. However, he trained me well, so now I rely on myself in a crisis.

Best career advice you've ever received
I try to live by the philosophy of Virgin Group owner and founder Richard Branson, which is to take risks.

Favorite city to travel to on business
Istanbul. I've never been there for business – or ever. But it sure would be my favorite city to travel to at some point.

Mentor
Tom Bedecarre, CEO of AKQA. Many years ago, he gave me a second chance when I screwed something up.

Tom gave me the chance to see what I was made of.

What would be your ideal job, if not in PR?
Stand-up comic or marketing professor, so I can share all marketing lessons I have learned over the years. Or perhaps a combination of both.

Most distinct aspect of your personal office
Framed photos of my favorite city, Rome. To be honest, they are not hung very well, so that adds to the “distincticity.”

What is your daily morning ritual?
Embracing my addictions. I start with bad instant coffee followed by a spin class to mentally and physically gear up for the day.
