Ingersoll Rand taps Formula for Schlage, Nexia brands

NEW YORK: Industrial company Ingersoll Rand has selected Formula PR as its agency partner for its lock manufacturer Schlage and its Nexia home automation brands.

NEW YORK: Industrial company Ingersoll Rand has selected Formula PR as its agency partner for its lock manufacturer Schlage and its Nexia home automation brands.

The company spun off its commercial and residential security businesses at the end of last year, putting the Schlage brand into the new security division. Nexia, which was developed by Schlage and Trane, falls under Schlage's products.

Formula was brought on as agency partner for the Schlage and Nexia brands following the split, according to a document obtained by PRWeek.

Ingersoll Rand and Formula both declined to comment on the appointment.

Before the spinoff, Carmichael Lynch Spong was the PR firm for Schlage. The agency began working with the brand when Ingersoll acquired Carmichael client Trane at the end of 2007.

In a statement, Carmichael said it will “remain the Ingersoll Rand Residential Solutions public relations agency of record and retain the lion's share of the business, which includes the Trane and American Standard brands.”

Formula was awarded the Schlage and Nexia accounts through a PR consolidation rather than a competitive review.

Earlier this month, Ingersoll Rand reported a 3% drop in fourth-quarter net income.
