NEW YORK: Allison Gollust will join Turner Broadcasting System in March as SVP of communications for CNN Worldwide.
Leading PR teams in New York, Washington, , Atlanta, and Los Angeles, Gollust will oversee messaging and communications strategy for all CNN networks and businesses, including CNN.com, HLN, CNN International domestic operations, and CNN en Español. She will serve as the chief spokesperson for the news brand.
Gollust will report to Jeff Matteson, SVP of communications for Turner Broadcasting System, while also working closely with CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker. She will be based in New York.
Gollust had worked as communications director for New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) since October. Prior to that, she served as EVP for corporate communications at NBC Universal.
From 2005 to 2009, she was SVP of NBC News communications, serving as the chief spokesperson for NBC News and overseeing communications for MSNBC, CNBC, and The Weather Channel. Gollust has also worked as VP of NBC News communications.
While at NBC, Gollust oversaw communications for major anchor transitions, as well as the death of Tim Russert in 2008.
She joined the company in 1998 after working as director of communications and spokesperson for Major League Soccer and as a reporter and producer in Colorado.
