WASHINGTON: John O'Brien has left his role as communications director at the American Academy of Pediatrics as the organization looks to better coordinate its communications.

PR, public education, and membership outreach via the site and a newsletter will be managed by Roger Suchyta, associate executive director at the Academy.

“We want to emphasize the same thing at the same time,” he said.

Discussions are underway as to who will manage the merged workload. It will be either Suchyta or another associate executive director.

No other communications staff cuts are planned at this time, he added.
