Law firm Dentons expands into crisis management

WASHINGTON: Global law firm Dentons US is moving into the crisis management space with the launch of a consultancy in partnership with advisory firm Wirthlin Worldwide International.

WASHINGTON: Global law firm Dentons US is moving into the crisis management space with the launch of a consultancy in partnership with advisory firm Wirthlin Worldwide International.

The joint venture, called Wirthlin, is the first offering from Dentons' innovation group. In addition to crisis management, Wirthlin will specialize in global market strategies and partnerships.  

Wirthlin's leadership team will include COO John Fernandez, MD Richard Wirthlin, MD Scott Ogilvie, and MD Michael Silva.

“Dentons' on-the-ground resources globally and knowledge of business objectives, structures, risks, and operations complements Wirthlin Worldwide International's advisory services and C-suite relationships,” Silva said in a statement. “Our services enable CEOs to act faster and with more confidence as they expand in strategic markets.”

Representatives from Wirthlin could not be immediately reached for further comment.

Dentons has 2,500 lawyers in 79 offices worldwide. Based in Beverly Hills, CA, WWI advises CEOs, boards of directors, and governments on global market development, international partnerships, governance, and crisis management.

Other law firms that have expanded into crisis management include Pillsbury and Steptoe & Johnson.
