MSLGroup names Winkler first strategy chief

NEW YORK: MSLGroup North America has promoted Shellie Winkler to chief strategy officer after eight-plus months leading the firm's health and corporate practices.

NEW YORK: MSLGroup North America has promoted Shellie Winkler to chief strategy officer after eight-plus months leading the firm's health and corporate practices. It is a new position at the agency.

She will continue to manage key client relationships in the health category, reporting to Renee Wilson, president of MSLGroup North America.

Winkler will focus on strategy formulation and implementation, including innovation of practices and specialties, agency governance, processes and guidelines, and external partnerships, the firm said in a statement.

She joined the Publicis Groupe agency in September 2012 as North American director of its health and corporate practices. Previously, she served as a communications consultant. Winkler was also GM of corporate and public affairs in Edelman's New York office from January 2007 to May 2012.

She also worked at Ogilvy Public Relations for six years as MD in New York and at Hill & Knowlton as executive MD for its global health and pharmaceutical practice for two years.

An MSLGroup representative could not be immediately reached for comment on the promotion.
