NEW YORK: Porter Novelli has hired Henry Engleka as SVP in its global health and wellness practice.

NEW YORK: Porter Novelli has hired Henry Engleka as SVP in its global health and wellness practice. It is a new position at the firm.

He is reporting to Paul George, EVP and global director of the group and director of Porter's New York health and wellness practice. George joined the firm in January after being named the third director in as many years of the practice.

Prior to joining Porter, Engleka was CEO at P4 Strategy Group, a health communications agency in New York City. He also co-founded Zibbel, which creates mobile health technologies for health service providers to use as channels reaching consumers and physicians.

Before that, he spent nine years at Widmeyer Communications, ultimately serving as principal and MD of the New York office. He also worked as assistant executive director of the American Psychological Association.

“What drew me to Porter Novelli was the staff here. It's a really talented pool that's rich and engaging, said Engleka. “My expertise is in health systems and payers. Healthcare trends across the nation show a clear area of growth in these areas, and I hope to develop them here.”

Earlier this year, Porter named Darlan Monterisi EVP and MD of its New York office, replacing Karen van Bergen, who was promoted to global CEO at the beginning of this year.
