LONDON: Two PR professionals in the top ranks of government departmental communications are set to leave their jobs shortly.

In separate moves, heads of news Nick Turton and Linda Martin will depart their roles at the UK Departments of Energy and Climate Change and Culture, Media, and Sport, respectively.

Turton told PRWeek UK that he will leave at the end of July to take a year-long career break following four and a half years at the Energy and Climate Change department.

“I will hopefully be able to return to the DECC after my break, though not in the same role,” he said. “I have covered my brief for a long time, and we are in the process of recruiting for the post.”

PRWeek UK understands that Martin will leave the DCMS for a career break at the same time, with no replacement announced yet.
