LONDON: Ketchum has been handed a brief to promote The Million Pound Startup, a competition that will showcase London as a center of digital and technology businesses.

Ketchum will promote the competition, which is backed by the Tech City Investment Organization, the Mayor of London, and London & Partners, across the globe through its local offices and affiliates.

The agency picked up the brief following its work with the Digital Shoreditch festival, the organizers of the competition.

Ketchum London will lead the work, coordinating with backers and partners of the initiative and publicizing the shortlisted entrants, finalists, and eventual winner.

The competition is open to companies with less than £100 million (about $154 million) turnover that have been trading for less than 10 years, with the opportunity to win £1 million in funding from a combination of angel funding, institutional capital, and equity crowdfunding.
