NEW YORK: Zeno Group has appointed Cindy Romano, former group director of healthcare at W2O agency Twist Marketing, to serve as EVP of health, a new role in the firm's New York office.
Romano, who began working at the company three weeks ago, reports to Ame Wadler, MD of global health at Zeno.
In addition to leading health accounts and growing the business organically and through new clients, Romano said she will focus on maintaining Zeno's culture.
She explained that it is important for the firm to win new clients and grow while “still maintaining that entrepreneurial, highly collaborative vibe.”
Zeno's health clients include companies from segments such as pharmaceutical, consumer, and nutrition such as Allergan, Bausch + Lomb, and AstraZeneca.
Prior to her two-year stint at Twist Marketing, Romano spent 15 years at Chandler Chicco Companies, where she saw the firm grow exponentially from when it only had 11 staffers. PRWeek reported that Chandler Chicco had more than 400 employees in 2012.
Zeno has also named Stephanie Tortorici director of health in its Chicago office. Tortorici is maintaining her EVP position and reporting to Wadler.
The DJE Holdings firm has also hired Thomas Bunn, previously a global account planner at Ketchum, to serve as an SVP in its consumer practice. Bunn worked on the Gillette account during his time at Ketchum.
Zeno reported global revenue of $24.4 million in 2012 with a worldwide headcount of 205.
The agency also promoted Chicago MD Grant Deady to chief culture officer, a new position, in March, and named former Cohn & Wolfe chief strategy officer John Hollywood its New York MD in January.
