NEW YORK: Kwittken & Company has appointed former Edelman SVP Stephanie Fogle as MD and consumer team leader, a newly created role at the agency.
Fogle, who joined the firm earlier this month, is reporting to president and partner Jason Schlossberg. She is also serving as a member of the agency's executive team.
“Historically, we've never had any kind of team leads,” Schlossberg explained. “We've always prided ourselves on being a multi-specialist [firm], and we still do that, but we came to the realization about a year ago that, as it related to consumer, we needed someone with significant expertise to grow it the way we want.”
He added that the firm looked at the industry for a long time to find the right person to lead the unit.
Consumer business makes up between 30% and 35% of Kwittken's work, and the agency's goal is to increase that amount to 50% in the next three to five years, Schlossberg said.
Fogle, who most recently served as a brand communications and PR consultant for the past year and a half, will lead Kwittken's consumer team of 10 staffers. She will closely liaise with advertising agency partner KBS+ to manage integrated accounts, which are primarily consumer-focused, said Schlossberg. Fogle will also work with KBS+ to mine any potential PR opportunities in the ad agency's existing client roster.
For instance, Kwittken is working with KBS+ on an integrated account that includes PR, social media, and advertising for bedding company Simmons, he said.
Before freelancing, Fogle spent nearly seven years at Edelman, most recently as an SVP. She has also worked at Cohn & Wolfe, Ogilvy Public Relations, and Porter Novelli.
