Print-age rivals The Washington Post Co. and The New York Times Co. are teaming up to try to gain additional revenues from mobile subscriptions.

The two publishing companies announced today that they’re launching pilot programs for the Kindle DC this summer. The publishers will offer a reduced price to readers who live in areas where home delivery is not available, but who sign up for long-term Kindle subscriptions.
