ARLINGTON, VA: The Department of Defense (DoD) launched an integrated campaign May 21 to reduce the stigma about mental illness among service members and their families. The “Real Warriors” campaign is using regional media relations to target communities in the US with a large military presence, said a spokesperson for the DoD. The public affairs team also created collateral materials and PSAs to give to its public affairs officers and commanders. The campaign Web site includes profiles of other service members and information about where to get help.
