NEW YORK: Weber Shandwick announced the launch of its global social innovation specialty practice on June 2, although it began the initiative much earlier. Harris Diamond, CEO of WS, said in April's PRWeek Agency Business Report that the initiative could be a major growth area for the agency.

The practice aids the agency's work with clients in corporate responsibility, sustainability, strategic philanthropy, cause marketing, and advocacy, according to a statement. The firm has also instituted programs for working with consumers, corporations, and nonprofit groups as part of the effort.
