LONDON: Microsoft awarded its consumer business in EMEA to Weber Shandwick. The seven-figure contract will go into effect July 1.

Heather Knox, director of corporate communications for Microsoft EMEA, confirmed the win, first reported by PR Week UK. The EMEA brief involves Microsoft's consumer and online business, including Windows, mobile, and online advertising. But it does not include the Xbox 360 business, Knox noted.

WS already handles Microsoft's corporate and technology business in EMEA, but the agency lost  Microsoft's global mobile account to Waggener Edstrom in May. The Red Consultancy formerly handled the online account, which will now become part of Weber's brief.
