NBC Universal names Gollust to top comms position

NEW YORK: NBC Universal appointed Allison Gollust EVP for corporate communications, effective July 13.

NEW YORK: NBC Universal appointed Allison Gollust EVP for corporate communications, effective July 13. Gollust, who will report to Jeff Zucker, NBC Universal president and CEO, will be responsible for the communications policies and strategic positioning of the company's global assets, content, and executives. She will also oversee the company's global media strategy and execution, executive communications, internal communications, corporate philanthropy, and community relations. Additionally, Gollust will serve as the chief spokesperson for both Zucker and NBC Universal.

Gollust succeeds Cory Shields, who was promoted to EVP for global policy strategies and alliances last month. Gollust served as SVP of NBC News communications since 2005, and was named VP of NBC News communications in 2002. Prior to that, Gollust was senior publicist for Today and a publicist in NBC's corporate communications division.

She also serves on the board of New York Women in Communications.
