Now that we've followed the PR around Brüno, let's discuss the PR in Brüno: The DeFosset twins, owners of the Los Angeles-based firm Duet PR, who Sacha Baron Cohen's Brüno character approached in an effort to make him "uber famous." Check out this excerpt from a reactionary interview with BlackBook Magazine.
How long did it take you to realize you’ve been had?
It actually took us almost 11 months and it was pretty surreal for us because a friend sent us a message, and he was like, you girls are in Brüno, did you know that? And we didn’t think anything of it. We were like, what’s Brüno? And he was like, It’s Sacha Baron Cohen’s new movie. And we were like, what? But we still didn’t know if it was official, like if they had cut our part or anything. And then we saw the TV promos, and we were in the highlights, and we’re like oh, it’s official, we’re in the movie now.

The twins' performance in the movie where they fail to locate Darfur, had a few tongues wagging in the PR industry.

Paul Wilmot, owner of Paul Wilmot Communications was a Brüno victim during Da Ali G Show's pilot season on HBO. Regarding the reputation of fashion and entertainment PR sectors, he noted, "Now we’re involved in digital work, CSR... This business is very complex and big now. It's not just a bunch of people sipping on white wine. He did make fun of them and they were vulnerable."

On Twitter, most posts regarding the scene look something like this one:
