Those infamous fictional "Harry and Louise" characters that worked against President Clinton's healthcare reform in the 1990s are being resurrected - this time to play for the other side. Families USA, a nonprofit, watchdog group for consumers' healthcare, and trade association PhRMA are sponsoring the ads that begin this weekend and will advocate for healthcare reform under President Obama. Ron Pollack, executive director of Families USA, told Bloomberg:
“As you look at so many stories about health reform, so many people are using Harry and Louise as a verb, asking if health reform is going to be Harry and Louised,” he said. “Having Harry and Louise advertising in support of health-care reform is as strong a symbol of how different this health- care debate is this year.”
