It may be raining in New York today, but the New York Yankees are continuing to spread hope with Helping Others Persevere and Excel (HOPE) Week, held July 20 to 24. This community program is honoring individuals and organizations that give back, including Patchwork of Young Leaders Society and an inspirational Little Leaguer with cerebral palsy named Tom Ellenson. The goal of the week is to gain awareness for certain causes and organizations.

With a new organization or individual honored daily, Yankee players are getting out in the community and connecting with fans and media. The Yankees' PR team is keeping media informed with daily updates of the events and causes being honored.

After the jump, a photo from Monday's game versus the Baltimore Orioles, where Marco and Jennifer Chiappetta, the founders of Patchwork of Young Leaders Society, were honored, along with some teenagers who are part of the program.
