The top executive of Zappos, whose company was purchased by Amazon yesterday, told his employees that the brand will remain intact, as will their jobs, including his own. In an e-mail to employees yesterday, which was also posted to the company blog, CEO Tony Hsieh wrote:
We think that now is the right time to join forces with Amazon because there is a huge opportunity to leverage each other's strengths and move even faster towards our long term vision. The Zappos brand will continue to be separate from the Amazon brand. Our mission remains the same: delivering happiness to all of our stakeholders, including our employees, our customers, and our vendors.
