Same-sex couples are now permitted to marry in Vermont and a famous ice cream duo is joining in on the celebration. Ben & Jerry's partnered with Freedom to Marry and changed the name of its popular Chubby Hubby ice cream to Hubby Hubby. It is serving Hubby Hubby sundaes throughout September in its Vermont locations. Labels and packaging of the flavor throughout the rest of the country will remain the same.

"At the core of Ben & Jerry's values, we believe that social justice can and should be something that every human being is entitled to," said Walt Freese, CEO of Vermont-based Ben & Jerry's, in a statement. "From the very beginning of our 30 year history, we have supported equal rights for all people. The legalization of marriage for gay and lesbian couples in Vermont is certainly a step in the right direction and something worth celebrating with peace, love and plenty of ice cream."

The news has already garnered some blog buzz.
