Warner Bros. Entertainment (WBEI) created DC Entertainment, a new, separate division of WBEI that will be a revamping of the DC Comics business. DC Entertainment will strategically integrate the DC Comics business, brand, and characters into all media and platforms, incorporating the brand more into the overall WBEI.

The company promoted Diane Nelson, formerly the president of Warner Premiere, to president of DC Entertainment. DC Comics' president and publisher, Paul Levitz, will "return to his roots as a writer and become a contributing editor and overall consultant for DCE," the company said in a statement.

Scott Rowe, SVP of corporate communications for Warner Bros. Entertainment, told PRWeek that the announcement of the launch was handled internally, with help from David Hyde and the PR team at DC Comics. As for DC Entertainment's internal PR team, nothing has been decided.

The news has received quite a bit of buzz, especially after the Disney/Marvel announcement from last week.
