WASHINGTON: The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is looking for a PR firm to provide strategic communications for 2009 and 2010, according to a federal filing.

The federal agency plans to contract with a firm as it attempts to raise awareness about NOAA with the public and the marine transportation industry, as well as nontraditional stakeholders like local and state planning agencies, environmental organizations, hydro-energy developers, and trade associations. Services would include social and traditional media, events, and a Web site upgrade.

The deadline for responses is September 21. NOAA expects to award the contract in September.
