In a move that US Census Bureau spokesperson Patricia Gaitan is calling "people placement," the bureau has partnered with Telemundo telenovela Más Sabe el Diablo (The Devil Knows Best) in order to reach the Hispanic community.

According to this story in The New York Times, the message is simple: "Don't be afraid to be counted." In previous census counts, many Hispanics chose not to be counted due to language barriers, fear, or other issues. This effort, in addition to videos, PSAs, ads, and other efforts, is intended to build trust.
