Fundraising for the Red Cross with Twitter

Neal Gorman, chairman of the Brooklyn Chapter of the American Red Cross, is using Twitter to raise money as he runs the New York City Marathon on November 1.

Neal Gorman, the VP of PR at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, and chairman of the Brooklyn Chapter of the American Red Cross, is using Twitter to raise money as he runs the New York City Marathon on November 1. As part of the American Red Cross team, Gorman has to raise $2,500 and wants to see if Twitter can help.

Gorman is asking his Twitter followers and anyone else on the site to retweet his challenge and donate $5 to the cause. The campaign has gotten some local buzz in Brooklyn and online. As of 3pm on Monday, Gorman has raised $990.
