FDA to propose nutritional label standards

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) plans to propose standards for nutrition labels that are placed on the front of packaging on food products.

Because some companies have chosen to create their own nutritional ranking systems, questions about quality have arisen with the federal agency. The Grocery Manufacturers Association told The Wall Street Journal that it will work with the FDA to decide what information is beneficial for consumers.
