Census Bureau to address issues in 2010 communications

WASHINGTON: The US Census Bureau plans to issue a task order to Draftfcb to support the census communications campaign in 2010, using recovery funds, said a federal filing. Draftfcb, which was awarded the bureau's initial contract in 2007, contracted the PR and partnership effort to sister agency Weber Shandwick.

WASHINGTON: The US Census Bureau plans to issue a task order to Draftfcb to support the census communications campaign in 2010, using recovery funds, said a federal filing. Draftfcb, which was awarded the bureau's initial contract in 2007, contracted the PR and partnership effort to sister agency Weber Shandwick.

Services will include management of media and the bureau's image, advertising, materials, and earned media and PR to address issues that may affect the campaign. Issues could include low response, negative or inaccurate media coverage, or disruptions of the census, such as terrorist attacks, disaster, boycotting, and raids or deportations.
