FDA questions safety of caffeinated alcoholic drinks

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said it would ban caffeinated alcoholic drinks unless the companies that make the products can prove they are safe.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said it would ban caffeinated alcoholic drinks unless the companies that make the products can prove they are safe. 

The agency sent letters to 30 manufacturers with requests for safety information regarding the combination of caffeine and alcohol. The drinks have become increasingly popular with college students and are marketed using social media sites like Twitter, says The New York Times.
