LOS ANGELES: BNC and PMK/HBH, two entertainment PR agencies under the Interpublic Group, are merging, a source close to the situation confirmed to PRWeek. Entertainment reporter Nikki Finke broke the story on her Deadline Hollywood blog on December 7.
While details, including any staff changes and the name of the new company, are still being decided, a source said they hope to launch the new company at the beginning of 2010 and that it "was not an IPG mandate."
The agencies "have very few, if any, conflicting clients and if we do, then we'll deal with them in the proper manner," the source said. "Right now, clients continue to be serviced, and we'll work through that before the end of the year so clients have an understanding and [we know] how we can best manage the clients' needs for the new year."
Reports that PMK/HBH founders Robin Baum and Stephen Huvane, and president Nate Schreiber, left the company were also confirmed. The agencies held staff meetings about the situation on Monday
