NEW YORK: AOL's corporate communications EVP, Tricia Primrose, is to leave the company after 13 years to spend more time with her family.

According to a staff memo from AOL CEO Tim Armstrong, Primrose will leave as soon as a replacement can be found, but will be staying on in an advisory role.

During her 13 years with the firm, Primrose built up AOL's corporate communications team and guided it through its re-emergence as a stand-alone public company. In addition, she oversaw AOL's recent 25th Anniversary celebrations.

In his memo, Armstrong paid tribute to Primrose and said, “since returning home to Virginia in December last year Trish has been commuting, spending part of every week in the NY office – a schedule that has required her to sacrifice a lot of time away from her husband, Doug and daughter, Callie.  People who know Trish well know that while she is the ultimate perfectionist at work, the thing she is proudest of is her family.”
