Ad Age's Bush takes on comms role at MSLGroup

NEW YORK: MSLGroup hired Michael Bush as a VP and communications director.

NEW YORK: MSLGroup hired Michael Bush as a VP and communications director, effective later this month. In this role, he will lead media relations, thought leadership, and branding for MSLGroup Americas and all of its brands, explained Jim Tsokanos, president at the agency.

Bush was most recently a reporter at Advertising Age. Prior to joining the publication, he was a reporter at PRWeek

"We integrated experiential marketing, financial communications, creative agencies, and social media and digital into the new MSLGroup," said Tsokanos. "We need someone who understands those different disciplines and services. Mike is perfect."

He added, "His core responsibility will be helping to tell our firm's new value proposition, brand story, and vision around 'unbound by channel.'" 

Bush replaces Elizabeth Vicenzino, most recently director of corporate communications at the agency. She exited the firm earlier this month, said Tsokanos.

"After covering the PR and marketing industry for the past six years it was tough leaving the reporting game and Ad Age," Bush told PRWeek in a statement. "But...I'm looking forward to helping the agency tell the next and exciting new chapter of its story."

Marc Longpre, a former healthcare reporter at PRWeek, is currently an account supervisor in the agency's San Francisco office. Tonya Garcia, a former reporter at PRWeek, also previously worked at the firm as a senior account executive. She's currently the editor of Mediabistro's PRNewser blog.
