NEW YORK: Travelex, a worldwide foreign exchange and payments service, has appointed CJP Communications as its North American AOR for its global business payments division, effective February 1.
CJP will support Travelex's marketing efforts in the US and Canada, including developing and implementing a PR program for the regions. The company's global business payments division provides businesses with payment and foreign exchange technology services such as receipt of international funds.
"The things that we are doing for them is to help strengthen [the division's] reputation as an industry expert on international trade and global business payments, build thoughtful and innovative campaigns to support their product launches, and maximize the value for their industry conference participation and appearances," said Josh Passman, SVP at CJP Communications.
The CJP win was the result of a global RFP for North America, initiated by Travelex. FD, the strategic communications segment of FTI Consulting, was the incumbent agency.
"[CJP] showed a refined agility in partnering with global agencies and a strong background in the financial technology and banking sectors," said Andrew Wiseman, head of global products and marketing for Travelex's global business payments division. "CJP proved to us that they understood our business and know how to think creatively about how to go about getting our messages to customers and the press. CJP's original and innovative style combined with their eagerness to be part of a global PR campaign helped them to stand out from the pack."
CJP will be working collaboratively with agencies, such as Red Leaf Polhil in the UK and StateCraft in Australia, he added. Passman declined to comment on the size of the account work CJP would be supporting.
Meanwhile, Travelex recently launched a new payment platform called GEO, which provides companies with access to local country clearing systems in 40 countries.
CJP predominantly services financial clients such as OppenheimerFunds, Travelers, and Edward Jones.
