?Winner: Marian Salzman, Euro RSCG Worldwide PR

Since Marian Salzman took the helm of Euro RSCG Worldwide PR's North America operation in 2009, she has reinvigorated the agency with her can-do attitude and trendsetting views.

With Salzman as president, Euro RSCG Worldwide PR doubled its budget with Sanofi-Aventis and launched STAND, a social media campaign to raise awareness about diabetes. The firm also expanded work with several of its consumer clients and was named AOR for Kmart and Sears' seasonal PR push.

In addition, Euro RSCG garnered mainstream media attention for its work with musician and activist Wyclef Jean last year. Jean, who considered a bid for president of Haiti, recently took a role as a visiting scholar to Salzman's alma mater, Brown University, as a result of his work with Euro RSCG Worldwide PR.

Formerly CMO at Porter Novelli and JWT Worldwide, Salzman has made a name for herself as a leader with an eye for trends and consumer insights.

Each judge noted Salzman's role as a thought leader, both within the PR industry and within mainstream media.

One judge noted her "impressive thought leadership" and role in articulating "important societal trends" in the last year, while another judge lauded Salzman for "redefining success within the agency."

The agency also provides pro bono PR to Project Home Base, which aids soldiers who suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome, with Salzman leading the team providing PR support.

Salzman writes: "We blog. We tweet. We embrace CSR - and we change perceptions, move mountains, control headlines. All the team needed was jet fuel."


Honorable Mention:
Angela Buonocore, ITT Corp.

Angela Buonocore combines strategy with a keen focus on CSR in her role as SVP and CCO at ITT Corporation. In addition to the launch of a multi-year communications campaign aimed at positioning ITT as a company that can solve world issues, the former Pepsi Bottling Group VP led the development and implementation of ITT Watermark, a corporate citizenship initiative that has pledged more than $14 million to provide safe water to millions of people. One judge called the company's incorporation of new media and CSR under Buonocore "impressive." Another judge said she was "focused and smart."


The Award Recognizes outstanding personal achievement within the PR industry in the period covered by this year's Awards, as well as career achievements to date.
