India's Watermelon goes to Publicis

PARIS: Publicis Groupe plans to acquire a majority stake in Watermelon, a healthcare advertising agency in Mumbai, India.

PARIS: Publicis Groupe plans to acquire a majority stake in Watermelon, a healthcare advertising agency in Mumbai, India.

Since its formation in 2003, Watermelon, which also provides public relations and communications services, has worked with pharma and biotech companies such as AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Merck Specialties, MSD Pharmaceuticals, and Novartis.

On completion of the deal, Watermelon will be renamed Publicis Life Brands Watermelon and will operate as part of the Publicis Heathcare Communications Group.
