SOMERSET, NJ: InVentiv Health named Bob Chandler SVP of marketing and communications, a new role at the healthcare services company. The added responsibilities will not affect Chandler's role as principal of Chandler Chicco Companies.

Chandler co-founded Chandler Chicco Agency with Gianfranco Chicco in 1995 before selling the healthcare agency in 2007 to Somerset, NJ-based InVentiv Health for $65 million in cash and stock.

Chandler said that he's "delighted" about the new role and will be building a marketing and communications function at the company, which will include hiring at least four staffers.

He continues to report to Paul Meister, executive chairman and CEO of InVentiv Health.

InVentiv Health announced in May 2010 that it had been acquired by private equity firm Thomas H. Lee Partners for approximately $1.1 billion. Chandler said that expanding globally is a key area of focus for the company.
