Monterisi joins Porter Novelli to handle HP

NEW YORK: Porter Novelli has hired Darlan Monterisi as EVP to manage the firm's global business as client relationship leader for Hewlett-Packard.

NEW YORK: Porter Novelli has hired Darlan Monterisi as EVP to manage the firm's global business, client relationship leader for Hewlett-Packard.

"Darlan is a great leader, a creative thinker, and we are very, very excited about having her," said Julie Winskie, the agency's global president of clients, and Monterisi's direct report.

"She's got a great mix of leadership skills and a diverse background in both the gaming sector and in social media and emerging media and the broader marketing world. She brings PR plus. HP is a complex multifaceted account, and she brings all the right pieces to that."

Monterisi, a former captain in the Marine Corps who served in Iraq, has more than 13 years experience handling domestic and global communications and public affairs programs. She was most recently the global PR director for Rockstar Games, where she conceived, developed, and executed integrated communications programs for brands like Grand Theft Auto IV and Midnight Club: Los Angeles.

Before Rockstar, while working at Mullen as an account director, her clients included the Department of Defense, BBN Technologies, H&R Block, Embarq, and Wachovia.
