Weber's Leslie named to USAID advisory committee

NEW YORK: Jack Leslie, chairman of Weber Shandwick, was appointed as a member of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) advisory committee on voluntary foreign aid.

NEW YORK: Jack Leslie, chairman of Weber Shandwick, was appointed as a member of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) advisory committee on voluntary foreign aid.

The advisory committee acts as a link between the US government and private voluntary organizations that are active in humanitarian assistance and development work overseas.

In 2009, Leslie was appointed by President Barack Obama, and confirmed by the Senate, to serve as chairman of the US African Development Foundation. He is also a member of the Council of Foreign Relations, and a member of the Board of Advisors of the Duke Global Health Institute. Leslie is also former chairman of USA for the

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
